Wednesday Poem of the Week: [Title Unknown] Pete Doherty

0 Comments 05 June 2013

Recited on Newsnight with Kirsty Wark- December 22nd 2004

I knew she wasn’t English

For she spoke it far too well

The grammar was goodly and the verbs where they should be

And the slang was bang on the bell

But as the language barrier banged and clanged

I could not hear, hear nor see

London, England and Bow

Crumble into the sea.
