Dead Person of the Day – June 26 – Jeane Dixon

0 Comments 26 June 2012

Greetings Folks,

Today’s DPD is world class quack, entrepreneur and spiritual seer to millions of numbskulls….Jeane Dixon.

Ms Dixon’s claim to fame was a prediction in a 1956 issue of Parade Magazine where she posits:

‘that the 1960 presidential election  would be dominated by labor and won by a Democrat who would then go on to [B]e assassinated or die in office though not necessarily in his first term.”

I feel like that type of stuff would get you in some serious hot water these days no?

In the spirit of full disclosure she was also on record saying in 1960 “During the 1960 election, I saw Richard Nixon as the winner”

Hey, you can’t fault a woman for hedging her bets eh?

Miraculously she went on to predict many other important events in the 20th century such as:

  • A dispute over the offshore Chinese islands of Quemoy and Matsu would trigger the start of World War III in 1958
  • Walter Reuther, an American labor union leader, would run for President in 1964
  • The second child of Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau and his young wife Margaret would be a girl (it was a boy)
  • The Russians would be the first to put men on the moon

Not shockingly however is that this incredible record of ineptitude gained the attention of Dick Nixon. In fact, her prediction of terrorist attacks in American following the Munich Massacre prompted Nixon to set up a cabinet committee on counter terrorism. Bam, take THAT high profile lobbyist!

She also advised Nancy Reagan on how to get grass stains out of seersucker.

The fact that a woman who has a 1-900 number set up for psychic readings can also be influential to the  highest office of our country makes me not at all shocked we’re in the state we’re in.

Either way you’ve got a piping hot obit on a Tuesday!
