Music Tuesdays

No Comments 25 June 2013

Enthusiasts,

At the last staff meeting, after we finished up noshing on hummus and fruitcake, we got to thinking. We like music. We suspect you might too. We also figured that Tuesdays, in general, could use some sprucing up. Boom – Music Tuesday was born. Every Tuesday we’re going to share some selections that we enjoy around the office.

This week – John Zorn.

Mr. Zorn blends elements of punk, jazz, rock, macarena and nursery rhymes in the incredibly descriptive genre of ‘avant garde/experimental’. Park kook, part genius with a terrible fashion sense and a penchant for scarfing burritos Mr. Zorn would be welcome at The Shade HQ anytime. Back in ’91 I caught him at the Roseland Ballroom where he played a 90 minute set with just a mouthpiece for an alto sax. In a word – transcendental. We hope you enjoy and feel free to explore the space.
